Data Protection & Processing Notice (KVKK / GDPR)

This Data Protection Notice has been prepared by The Business Cyprus acting as the data controller in accordance with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Personal Data Protection Law No. 89/2007, Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK), and the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Processed Data & Anonymization Methodology

Our platform is engineered around strict data minimization:

• Visitor Traffic & Analytics Logs: When you read an article, your raw IP address is never written to disk. We only record an irreversible daily cryptographic digest (visitor_hash), country ISO code (country), device class (device), browser family (browser), operating system family (os), referring hostname (referrer_host), and the viewed article ID.
• Newsletter Subscription Data: When you subscribe to our newsletter, we process only your email address and language preference based on your explicit consent.

2. Purposes & Legal Basis of Processing

• Legitimate Interest & Statistical Analysis: Measuring readership performance, generating “Most Read” rankings, filtering automated bot traffic, and maintaining platform security.
• Explicit Consent: Delivering periodic business and economy newsletters to subscribed readers.

3. Data Storage, Security & Transfers

Data is secured using encrypted transit (HTTPS/TLS) and strict Row-Level Security (RLS) policies on EU-hosted cloud database infrastructure (Supabase) and edge delivery networks (Vercel). We never sell, rent, or transfer your data to ad networks or data brokers.

4. Your Rights as a Data Subject

Under applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Learn whether your personal data is being processed and request information regarding such processing,
• Request rectification or erasure of your newsletter subscription or personal data,
• Object to processing or withdraw your consent at any time.

Because our analytics pipeline does not store raw IP addresses or personal identifiers, page view records cannot be linked back to an identifiable individual. For newsletter removal or any privacy inquiries, please contact us through our official channels.
